SAI T-Talks (Transformation Talks): Grace Padaca

Another Transformation Talk (T-Talk) of Silid Aralan Inc. (SAI) discussing one of its core values – Integrity, was held at the Silid Aralan Hub at the Montalban Town Center last September 12, 2015, with Ms. Grace Padaca as the guest speaker.

Ms. Grace Padaca shared her story in the T-Talk to the learners of Silid Aralan in senior and junior ILead. She was the former governor of Isabela province from2004-2010, a Ramon Magsaysay Awardee in 2008 for her government service in Isabela and an International Women Courage Awardee, awarded in USA for her continuous development in Isabela. But behind these recognitions is a story of a woman who fought against the predicaments of being a poliovirus victim. Despite being bullied because of her situation, she still managed to always be at the top of her class, graduating valedictorian in grade school and high school. She studied in the Lyceum of the Philippines University and graduated magna cum laude. She became the governor of Isabela and showed her integrity by reclaiming the democratic right and amending the unresolved problems of Isabela.

The learners and co-learners were given a chance to know her deeper by a question and answer portion. Ms. Padaca answered their questions and gave wisdom that learners can apply in their lives and also how significant “Integrity” is in our every day lives, which is one of the core values of Silid Aralan. Everybody was motivated by her story and affected by her extraordinary optimism. The whole Silid Aralan family is grateful for allowing us to hear her story firsthand.
