The Boys of Boys Town: Nurturing Young Minds

In partnership with a group of Political Science students from San Beda University, Silid Aralan representatives, Julius Nico E. Saturno and Mel Angelo Emmanuel B. Ortiola, conducted a transformative two-day learning session at Boys Town in Marikina City. The project aimed to uplift the spirits of 30 young learners from the Boys Home Unit of the Boys Town Complex. The topic provided by the Silid Aralan team was on human dignity, deriving great inspiration, inputs, and activities from the Human Dignity Curriculum of the World Youth Alliance.

As the team interacted with the children, the team couldn’t help but wonder about the circumstances and hopes of the children for the future. Despite the challenges they face, their resilience continues to shine through. Many of these children also yearn for the warmth and joy of family. Their stories serve as a constant reminder of the importance of compassion and understanding. By recognizing the impact of poverty and other societal issues on these young lives, we can strive to create a brighter future for them.
