Silid Read to Lead Program commences in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte

The “Silid Read to Lead” program, for its pilot run, was introduced by Silid Aralan to the community of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, on January 23 and 24, 2025, bringing together a diverse group dedicated to improving literacy and reading skills. Through the support of the Schools Division Office of Ilocos Norte, San Nicolas Elementary School, and the local government unit of San Nicolas, teachers of Grades 1 to 3 from local schools, along with three city-paid teachers, actively engaged in the two-day workshop led by the School Principal of San Nicolas Elementary School, Mr. Orlando Pascua, and the Silid Aralan team. The event gained further significance as the Mayor of San Nicolas, Hon. Mike Hernando, along with city council members and other municipal officials, participated in the said activity, demonstrating their commitment to education.
The Silid Read to Lead program focuses on empowering educators with innovative strategies to enhance reading and comprehension. The workshop provided practical tools and techniques that teachers can implement in their classrooms to create engaging and effective learning experiences. The presence and active participation of local officials highlighted the community’s dedication to supporting educational initiatives and investing in the future of their children.
