SAI has officially ended the First Term of the learning sessions last December 10, 2022. Following this success, the organisation distributed grocery packs to all of its learners across the Philippines to give additional support aside from snacks they received during the learning sessions. The grocery pack contains biscuits, canned goods and noodles. Parent Leaders participated in the activity, from recounting, rechecking and regrouping of grocery packs per number of learners per area. Lists of official learners were disseminated for ease and surety of distribution. The distribution began on December 15, 2022.

Seeing the smiles of SAI parents and learners was such a heartwarming sight. SAI appreciates their utmost cooperation all throughout the year and SAI thanks all partners and sponsors for making this additional support possible.

One of the events that happened last December was the End-of-Year (EOY) Party for the learners. It was an exciting time for all because after two years of holding virtual parties, most of the learners finally attended a physical one. This kind of an event can make new memories and give the learners the opportunity to spend time with each other and just enjoy.

To see the learners enjoy the party, sing, dance, play, receive gifts & wear their creative costumes was a wonderful sight to have. Another set of memorable parties where everyone saw each other’s enthusiasm, heard laughter and experienced enjoyment became possible because of the generous hearts of so many people. We thank all our partners, sponsors, volunteers & parents for helping SAI carry out a wonderful and joyful event like this for the learners.

The Learning Management Team (LMT) does not only empower the learners to join learning sessions but also invites parents to watch the parenting seminar videos and learn from them. This learning year, LMT aims to release 2 parenting seminar videos – one for the 1st term and another for the 2nd term.

The 1st term Parenting Seminar video entitled, “Magpapatuloy Ang Pagkatuto,” was released during the 3rd week of November. This video provides the parents with tips on how to help their child learn even during the pandemic. Parents were engaged to watch the video and were asked to fill out a google form after watching it.

SAI, represented by yours truly, attended the Volunteer Engagement Workshop organized by iVolunteer Philippines last November 26, 2022 at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City. The training aims to encourage organizations to learn how to engage volunteers and to keep them coming back. As a participant, I learned how important our volunteers are and how to keep them feel more appreciated and special during their engagement with SAI.

DHL Express Philippines collaborated with SAI for their ‘I love IT’ Activity. The DHL Team personally delivered their donations last October 12, 2022 at the Montalban Town Center Central Learning Hub. They donated three sets of desktop computers to empower learners to love education with the help of technology. Aside from the desktop computers, they also provided cash support for school supplies.

SAI manifested one of its core values, Malasakit, in the midst of this disaster. SAI launched assistance by purchasing grocery packs, prioritizing health care and food supplies.
