Celebrating the year’s end with Silid Aralan
Silid Aralan closed 2024 with heartwarming celebrations that showcased its commitment to enriching children’s lives through education. From December 2nd to 14th, students, teachers, and community partners gathered at Palanog Resettlement Elementary School, Laconon Integrated School, Silid Aralan ni Nanay Jen, and East City Central School to celebrate a year of growth and achievement.

s the year comes to a close, our Pasko-litan sa Silid Aralan Year-End celebration was a heartwarming and joyful occasion, a perfect way to close an amazing first term. It was a time for us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the milestones we’ve reached, the challenges we’ve faced, and the friendships we’ve built along the way. The event was a wonderful reminder of the strength and unity of our community, offering a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported, guided, and inspired us throughout the term.
SAI holds parent’s orientation and Co-learner’s training and capacity building for the Del Carmen Municipal Library learning hub
The Parent’s Orientation was held on December 5, 2024 at Bhayay Numancia, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte where a total of 61 parents were present. The orientation aimed to introduce the organization to the parents, to inform them of their roles and responsibilities as a Silid Aralan parent, and to make their participation official through a Memorandum of Agreement signing. It was a great opportunity for the Silid Aralan team and parents to discuss the program, address any concerns, and answer any questions before the parents fully commit to the program.
The Boys of Boys Town: Nurturing Young Minds
n partnership with a group of Political Science students from San Beda University, Silid Aralan representatives, Julius Nico E. Saturno and Mel Angelo Emmanuel B. Ortiola, conducted a transformative two-day learning session at Boys Town in Marikina City. The project aimed to uplift the spirits of 30 young learners from the Boys Home Unit of the Boys Town Complex. The topic provided by the Silid Aralan team was on human dignity, deriving great inspiration, inputs, and activities from the Human Dignity Curriculum of the World Youth Alliance.
Inside the Silid Aralan
All nine Silid Aralan learning hubs got their learning sessions going despite the cancellation of classes due to weather-related reasons. During the previous learning sessions, the Ground Zero learners studied earth science and their communities, food education and wellbeing, character development, and arts and culture. Meanwhile, the Sr. iLEAD learners focused on learning about Sustainable Development Goal 6 which encompasses Clean Water and Sanitation. At the moment, the Sr. iLEAD learners are developing projects that aim to help people who do not have steady access to affordable and potable water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Kamustahan with the Co-learners
The recent Kamustahan with the Co-learners provided valuable insights into the implementation of the learning plans and the overall learning experience. On learner attendance, most Co-learners reported consistent participation, with a few exceptions due to unforeseen circumstances. The challenges encountered during learning plan delivery primarily revolved around managing diverse learner needs and pacing the lessons effectively. Some Co-learners found it difficult to keep all students engaged, especially those who required additional support or enrichment activities.
