Last May 19, 2021, Silid Aralan, Inc. launched the Senior ILEAD Design Thinking Program. Design thinking, a phrase that became famous in the 1990s to sum up the creative strategies designers use, has grown into a global movement and is now being tested with SAI learners. The said summer program was participated by five (5) learners from the Sr. ILEAD. The goal of the said program is to inculcate design thinking in learners. Its process follows these steps: (1) address a problem starting with empathy, (2) create and consider various options (ideation), (3) pick a solution and test it, and (5) execute it.<\/p>\n

After 10 sessions, workshops and other activities, last June 27, 2021, the five (5) learners presented their prototype to 2 design thinking practitioners, Ms. Jeng Liban, Executive Director of Monark Foundation, and Mr.\u00a0 <\/span>Chenier Nicu Villanueva, Co-founder and Chief Pathfinder of Limitless Lab. The 2 practitioners gave feedback to the learners. The culminating event ended with the awarding of winners: Best Presenter to Jane Bacalso; Best Presentation to Erika Engente; and Best Innovator to Fria Shapit.
