Mr. Arcie Mallari, Silid Aralan, Inc. (SAI) co-Founder and Executive Director became a finalist in the RAPPLER Move Awards 2015. The recognition night was held last September 26, 2015 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.

Move Awards aims to recognize outstanding individuals who have created an impact in their communities while creating social change. The Move awards night was held after the Innovation+Social Good Summit, hosted by Natashya Gutierrez, Rappler Indonesia’s bureau chief. For over 350 nominations there were only 15 finalists, 3 for each award, and Mr. Mallari was nominated for the Civic Mover Award. The presenters in the awards night were National Youth Commission’s Dingdong Dantes, filmmaker Pepe Diokno, Bo’s Coffee’s Steve Benitez, Rappler’s Patricia Evangelista, and Google’s Ken Lingan.

The winners were Ms. Clarissa Delgado for The Global Mover, Ms. Maoi Arroyo for The Tech Mover, Mr. Francis Sollano for The Creative Mover, Ms. Nestor Pestelos for The Enterprise Mover and Dr. Anthony Leachon for The Civic Mover. The winners expressed their gratefulness and their willingness to continue their crusade to impact more and more lives for bigger change.

Despite not winning the award, Silid Aralan’s crusade of empowering education will still continue for longer years and will continue believing that in every underachieving child, lies a genius.
