Books and Breakthroughs: RTU and Silid Aralan Ignite a Love for Literacy

On February 27, 2026, Silid Aralan and Rizal Technological University (RTU) joined forces for a Reading Camp organized under EduAksyon, a flagship program of the Extension and Community Services Office of RTU. The event was spearheaded by Arcie G. Mallari, Founder and Chief Motivation Officer of Silid Aralan, alongside Instr. Ricardo H. Momongan, Jr., Director of RTU’s Extension and Community Service Office.

The reading camp was brought to life by 24 dedicated facilitators from the RTU College of Education—comprising 12 English majors and 12 Filipino majors. Together, they welcomed 250 enthusiastic learners from Patiis Elementary School, an effort warmly supported by the school’s active principal, Ms. Florian L. Guanio.

EduAksyon aims to awaken a lifelong love for reading and highlight the vital importance of literacy. By providing easy access to quality reading materials, this collaboration serves as an opening for students to become more engaged and curious learners.
