Cagayan de Oro and South Cotabato — To prepare the hearts and mindsets of the dedicated Co-Learners who journey alongside our students, we at Silid Aralan, Inc. (SAI) spearheaded a series of Co-Learners Capacity Building Workshops for volunteer facilitators and teachers from Hindangon Elementary School, Laconon Integrated School, and Pagalungan Elementary School.
As Head Co-Learner, I had the privilege of leading these sessions in close collaboration with our dedicated school coordinators and lead facilitators. In T’boli, South Cotabato, our Founder and Chief Motivation Officer, Arcie G. Mallari, coached the team at Laconon Integrated School. Meanwhile, in Cagayan de Oro, our Learning Management Team Leader, Krisha June A. Bugos, led the sessions for Hindangon and Pagalungan Elementary Schools.
We designed this program to equip participants with the mindset, tools, and heart necessary to walk with our learners and unlock their full potential. Moving away from traditional, rigid instruction, our approach centers on co-learning—a partnership where facilitators walk alongside children as empathetic companions who listen, encourage, and build self-worth.
We concluded the training with live micro-teaching simulations, where participants applied their facilitation techniques and received real-time peer feedback. Teachers and community volunteers across all three partner schools expressed renewed energy and confidence as they prepared to step into their learning hubs.
With trained Co-Learners on the ground and strong support from our partner school administrators, Silid Aralan is ready for a transformative school year. Together, we are creating safe and inspiring learning spaces where every child is celebrated, valued, and empowered to become a self-directed leader.
