Empowering Co-Learners: A Nationwide Journey of Transformation

Julius Nico E. Saturno, Head Co-Learner

August 2025

From the busy streets of Manila to the communities of Visayas and Mindanao, the Silid Aralan team spent August on a mission: to train their dedicated Co-learners. Through the Ground Zero and Silid Read to Lead Programs, SAI is building a network of educators and volunteers committed to transforming lives.

This month was all about empowering the guides who will accompany the learners on their incredible educational journey. Led by Mr. Arcie Mallari and Mr. Nico Saturno, the SAI Team held training sessions for both new and long-time partners.

Silid Aralan, Inc., was thrilled to welcome new Co-learners from Bear Hug Community Development Inc. in BASECO, Manila, as well as from Patiis Elementary School and Wawa Elementary School in Rizal. They also had the privilege of reconnecting with their partners from Palanog Elementary School in Tacloban and Laconon Integrated School in T’Boli, South Cotabato.

The training sessions held from August 14 to 29, 2025 brought together 34 Co-learners ready to make a difference. Every one of them is a testament to the shared belief that a nation is built by empowering its people. Silid Aralan, Inc.’s goal is simple — to help learners go from being “left behind to leading forward” so they do not only succeed in their own lives but also become leaders in their communities.
